I saw Jane’s Brand Timeline Portrait today and decided to make my own for a typical Friday (even though this wasn’t a typical Friday). Looking at these brands, I wonder where I could substitute local companies for national/worldwide brands. I do use local cheese and beer (and coffee–if you count the roaster, not where the beans come from). There aren’t many local manufacturers of laptops or shaving razors though.
I know I forgot a lot of things… Orbit gum, for one. Some things are so entwined in your life you forget they’re there.
